This was our whole school. Arthur Morgan School is a progressive boarding school in the mountains of North Carolina.
Hana and Mango. Mango was Nettle’s calf. The teachers took turns milking Nettle and sometimes the students helped.

Every Wednesday we had work projects around the campus, followed by lunch and All-School Meeting.

Our main academic building was heated by wood stoves. One of my duties was to start the fires before class.
I chose to live in Cordwood House my last two years at AMS.
